Hand-in-Hand provided a source of HEALING
to 1980 youth and adolescents in 2006.

Denise is 17 and pregnant.

The father is 22 and nowhere to be found. Denise is still living at home, but her mother says she can’t care for and support another baby. Denise doesn't know what to do and she doesn't understand that she, too, is a victim of sexual abuse.

For children and adolescents like Denise, The Counseling Center of Milwaukee, Inc. (TCCM) developed Hand-in-Hand, the area’s oldest and most comprehensive ongoing program providing sexual assault treatment and supportive services for youth victims of sexual abuse.

In 2006...

• 99% of the youth in the Hand-in-Hand program reported an increased understanding that the sexual abuse was not their fault.

• 97% of the youth in the Hand-in-Hand program reported their self esteem as a survivor had increased.

• 83% of the youth in the Hand-in-Hand program decreased the trauma related to their sexual abuse.
